BIPOSA is an association which includes:
1. UK and Ireland Ophthalmologists with a specialist interest in paediatric ophthalmology and / or strabismus
2. Orthoptists
3. Associate members including:

- UK and Ireland Doctors training in paediatric ophthalmology or strabismus
- UK and Ireland Paediatric / Strabismus Fellows*
- International ophthalmologists with an interest in paediatric ophthalmology and / or strabismus
- Research doctors and scientists with interests in paediatric ophthalmology and / or strabismus
- Hospital optometrists with a particular interest in paediatric ophthalmology

* Fellowships
The term “Fellowship” is going out of use in the context of UK training ophthalmologists. Trainees who have completed an “out-of-programme paediatric training” (OOPT) in paediatric ophthalmology or strabismus (and from 2024 level 4 training in paediatric ophthalmology or strabismus) have the same recognition for those applying for associate membership
Instructions for application to become a member:

- Fill in our application form and complete ALL sections appropriate for your speciality/grade. Incomplete applications will be ignored
- Your application form will be assessed by the Charity Trustees and if accepted you will be asked to make payment
- Please note that membership is completed ONLY on receipt of payment of your membership subscription. Failure to make annual payment by standing order makes membership lapse
