Paper poster display and attendance

Paper posters should be mounted on Wednesday morning and removed on Friday afternoon. Posters will remain on display throughout the meeting and will be available for viewing across all three days.

As a condition of acceptance, the first named author must register for the meeting, pay the applicable registration fee by the stated deadline, and attend in person for at least one day of the meeting.

If the first named author is unable to attend on Wednesday morning, a colleague may put up the poster on their behalf. However, the first named author must still meet the registration requirements and attend the meeting in person for the poster to remain eligible for display.

Nearer the time of the meeting (after 31 August), we will publish a poster list on the website where each abstract will be allocated a poster number. Each poster board will be clearly numbered, and you will be assigned a board according to your allocated poster number.

BIPOSA’s charitable support

BIPOSA exists to advance education in the subject of eye conditions and diseases in children and in people with ocular motility problems for the public benefit. To encourage research and advance education the charity makes a variety of awards throughout the year to enable orthoptists, trainee doctors and early career researchers to undertake research and disseminate their results to a wider public

We have prizes for the best posters in the following categories:

  • best poster
  • best case report (e-poster)

BMJ Ophthalmology Online

BMJ Open Ophthalmology is a companion journal to British Journal of Ophthalmology. It adheres to the highest industry standards concerning publication ethics.

BIPOSA is working as an affiliate organisation with BMJ OO for this year’s annual meeting. We are offering delegates the
opportunity to have the accepted abstract (either poster or oral) published online in the BMJ OO. There is usually a £50 fee for this service, however on this occasion BIPOSA will cover the fee.

If your work is accepted and you wish your abstract to be included in BMJ Open Ophthalmology, you must follow the instructions and deadlines provided by email. Inclusion requires full meeting registration with payment of the registration fee by the stated deadline, and submission of the author declaration form. Indicating consent alone does not guarantee inclusion. The deadline is 10 am 01st August 2026. There is no ecxeption in any circumstances to this deadline.

If we do not hear from you, the author declaration form is not returned, and/or you have not registered and paid the meeting registration fee by the 01st August 2026, we will assume you do not wish your abstract to be published, and it will not be included. No exceptions will be made, and no deadline extensions will be granted.
