Tony Vivian
Anthony Vivian is a Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital Cambridge and the Eye Treatment Centre, West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds. He is also Head of Postgraduate School of Ophthalmology and Associate Dean, Health Education England (East of England).
After his early ophthalmology training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, the London Hospital and Southampton Eye Hospital he became a Fellow of Paediatric Ophthalmology at The Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond St, London. He then returned to Moorfields Eye Hospital as a senior registrar and further specialist training in oculoplastics.
His special interests include children’s and adult strabismus surgery and eye movement abnormalities. He represents the East of England on the Council of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is also on the Scientific Committee of the College. He is the Lead Clinician for Clinical Governance at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, is an external advisor for the NHS Ombudsman and is on the National Institute for Clinical Excellence Interventional Procedures panel.
