The David Laws Travel Fellowship Award

The purpose of the David Laws BIPOSA Travel Fellowship is to enable early career orthoptists and ophthalmologists, based in the UK or Ireland, to undertake further training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and/or Strabismus. The award will assist the “David Laws BIPOSA Fellow”, for the subsequent benefit of Paediatric Ophthalmology or Orthoptics in the UK or Ireland, to study, research or acquire special skills, knowledge or experience at a suitable location in the UK or abroad and will build capacity in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus in the UK and Ireland

The purpose of the Research Training Award is to provide funds to clinicians (ophthalmologists, orthoptists, or optometrists) at any career stage, to undertake a specific formal research training course of any type eg research design, statistical analysis or laboratory techniques. This course should enable them to undertake research relating to children’s vision or eye disorders

BIPOSA Research Award

BIPOSA awards an individual or team for UK and / or Ireland based research into childhood eye conditions or eye movement disorders/strabismus in children or adults. This is a yearly award of £5,000 as a start-up grant for new investigators.
