Annual Prizes & Presentations

BIPOSA is pleased to announce that once again it will be supporting early career researchers, medics in training and orthoptists.

There will be two prizes (each to a value of £500) awarded in the following categories:

  • Best Paediatric free paper
  • Best Strabismus free paper

BIPOSA has awarded the following prizes for this year’s meeting:

  • Best abstract by orthoptist

Rahilah Bukhari
Orthoptist, University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire for her submission Initiation of an Orthoptic-led emergency eye care service within Eye Casualty for
paediatric patients attending a tertiary referral centre

  • Best abstract by trainee

Siegfried Wagner
Trainee, Moorfields Eye Hospital for his submission Automated detection of plus disease in retinopathy of prematurity using deep learning

Congratulations to the prizes awarded to

    • Anna Rossell, best orthoptic student at Sheffield University
    • Lucy Moss, best orthoptic student at Liverpool University

Both students won free registration to BIPOSA plus a bursary to cover travel + accommodation to attend BIPOSA
